建築本身為1916年（大正5年）落成的台南州廳，由建築師森山松之助設計，與現已消逝的台南郵便局出自同一位建築師之手——走讀路線在此形成一個隱密的環形：消失的建築與保存的建築都是森山松之助的作品，一個被拆除，一個被保留，各自承載著不同的歷史命運。館內同時藏有楊熾昌家屬捐贈的《風車》第三期孤本，以及大量葉石濤文物。兩隻蝴蝶最後都停在這裡。

Yang Chih-chang1908–1994

Yang Chih-chang (1908–1994), pen name Shui Yin-ping, was born in Tainan. In 1933 he co-founded the Le Moulin (Windmill) Poetry Society with Li Chang-jui, Lin Yung-hsiu and others, publishing the journal Le Moulin and introducing surrealism to Taiwanese poetry. This route follows the street where he grew up and the post office of his youth.

Yeh Shih-tao1925–2008

Yeh Shih-tao (1925–2008) was born in Tainan. He began publishing fiction in Japanese in the last years of Japanese rule and was imprisoned during the White Terror. His Outline History of Taiwan Literature (1987) set out a Taiwan-centred view of literary history. This route features his story “My Second Aunt, the Yidan and I”.
